How to care for your pieces

How to care for your bai pieces

A few simple care habits can help your bai pieces keep their shape, softness, and stretch for a long time.

Unlike most activewear made from nylon or polyester, bai pieces are crafted largely from plant-based fibres. They move differently, breathe differently, and feel different on the skin.

And because of that, they appreciate a little extra care.

Wear. Rewear. Repeat.

Bamboo and Modal fibres are naturally breathable and antibacterial. This means they often need less washing than synthetic activewear.

Instead of washing after every wear, simply hang your piece to air out. Often that’s all it needs before the next movement session.

Washing

Wash inside out and as cool as possible

Turning your pieces inside out protects the outer surface and keeps the fabric looking smooth. A cold wash is best (and a little better for the planet too), but 30°C works perfectly fine.

Skip the dryer

Heat wears out natural fibres faster and can affect the shape and stretch of the garment.
Air dry flat or hang on a line instead.

Keep it gentle

Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, soaking, or harsh detergents. Natural fibres prefer simple, gentle washing.

Be kind with contact

Natural fibres use shorter yarns than synthetic fabrics, which means they can be slightly more prone to pilling over time.

Try to avoid rubbing your pieces against rough surfaces like velcro, bags, or heavy gym equipment.

If small pills appear, they can easily be removed with a fabric shaver or depiller to restore the smooth surface.

With a little care, we hope your bai pieces move with you for a long time.
