About bai

Movement, made
naturally.

Our mission

Free activewear from plastic.

Most activewear is made from petroleum, recycled or not. We think your skin deserves plants. So we work with natural fibres, slow production, and the smallest amount of elastane we can get away with. It isn't perfect. We're not pretending it is.

Model wearing bai active
Our story

We're kinda an activewear brand.

But we also want to be there with you when you decide to be active, or not. Because motion creates emotion. Movement sparks a happier, healthier you. So we make the kind of activewear you'll want on your skin, even before you decide to move.

We choose natural where we can, and thoughtful blends where we need to. Imperfectly eco-conscious, unapologetically comfy, built for doing stuff you love.

Meet the makers

Made by hand,
in Indonesia.

Every bai piece is cut and sewn by a small, women-led team of tailors in Indonesia. No faceless factories. No middlemen. We work with them directly, from first sample to final stitch, and we're there in person for every production run.

The atelier

A small, women-led team of skilled tailors who sew every bai piece by hand.

The craft

Each garment is cut, stitched and finished with care. No shortcuts, no rush.

Small-batch production in Indonesia
The pace

We produce in small drops, so nothing is overmade, nothing is wasted.

Where it's made

Slow fashion,
at your own pace.

Designed in Australia. Crafted in Indonesia. We work directly with our tailor partner on the ground, so we're part of every step from first sample to final piece. Fewer drops. Less waste. More care in what gets made.

What we stand for

Our promise.

01

Natural first.

Plant-based fabrics. Bamboo, organic cotton, TENCEL™ Modal. The smallest possible amount of elastane for stretch. No polyester. No nylon.

02

Certified safe.

Every fabric meets OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. PFAS-free, AZO-free dyes. Nothing nasty against your skin.

03

Women-led.

Designed by a female founder. Crafted by a women-led atelier in Indonesia. We work alongside our tailors, not above them.

04

Small batches.

We produce in small drops to avoid overproduction. Plastic-free packaging too, because sustainability doesn't stop at the clothes.

From our founder

"I started bai because I wanted movement to feel easy. For me, that meant living in activewear that feels good on the skin. Being active becomes the natural next step. Literally."
